FOR SPICE PROCESSORS AND SEASONING BRANDS
Build the spice line around the next recipe change
Paprika powder, herb flakes and oily seasoning blends do not move or clean up in the same way. We connect the dosing method, product-contact access and retail pack so the line fits the way your spice business runs batches.

Start with what is inside the blend
Fine ground spices
Assess auger geometry, flow through the hopper and powder at the seal area. Product colour and aroma also influence cleaning between batches.
Flakes and mixed particles
Check particle dimensions, the blend distribution and the transfer path. A fine-powder auger should not be assumed suitable for flakes or pieces; weighing may be the appropriate route after trials.
Oily or cohesive seasonings
Describe oiliness, sticking and lumping. These properties affect product release and the access needed to remove residues; the feeder must be assessed with the blend.
Make changeover part of the equipment brief
A list of products and the order in which you run them helps define practical access, cleaning and restart requirements.

Colour and aroma carryover
Identify strong colours and aromas, the acceptable carryover and the surfaces that must be reached. Agree how the hopper, dosing parts and filling path will be emptied and cleaned.
Allergen and ingredient profile
Tell us which blends need separation and your plant’s validated cleaning procedure. Equipment access supports the cleaning plan; it does not itself establish an allergen-free result.
Batch size and changes per shift
A short batch with frequent recipe changes has different operating priorities from a long single-product run. Include clearing, cleaning and change parts when comparing production arrangements.
A spice brand often needs two retail formats

Premade pouches, including selected zipper formats
Use the pouch drawing to define opening, bottom gussets, zipper handling and the final top seal. Match the premade-pouch machine with auger or weighing equipment selected for your blend.

Jars and shaker containers
Define the container opening and filling nozzle together, then specify cap or other closure, coding and labeling. Narrow mouths and powder around the rim need attention in the filling arrangement.

For compatible powder refill packs, an auger-fed VFFS route forms and seals the bag from roll film. This uses different packaging input and handling from a premade zipper pouch.
Explore this equipmentCarry the recipe identity to the finished pack
Include the batch/date-code position and label change procedure in the line scope. At a product change, confirm the correct product, dosing setup, packaging and code before production restarts.
Look at the container filling path
This official archive clip shows a coffee/spice/powder jar-filling example. Use it to discuss container transfer and filling; cleaning access and changeover details must be specified for your blend.
Before we specify the line
Can the line pack powder and herb flakes?
Send both products and their particle ranges. The dosing principle, feeder passage and change parts may differ. We review the two applications and required cleaning before proposing a common packing platform.
Is a zipper pouch the same setup as a roll-film bag?
No. A premade zipper pouch needs pouch feeding, opening and zipper handling. A VFFS machine forms a bag from roll film. Select the package first so the correct handling system can be specified.
